Siwa &Baharyia & Farafra desert safari
Siwa & Baharyia & Farafra desert safari.
El-Wahat el Bahariya or Bahariya is approximately 360km away from cairo.
Bahariya consists of many villages of which el-Bawiti is the largest.
The people of the oasis, or the Wahati people (meaning “of the oasis” in Arabic), are the descendants of the ancient people who inhabited the oasis, Bedouin tribes from Libya and the north coast, and other people from the Nile Valley who came to settle in the oasis.
Over time, the Bahariya Oasis has had a number of different names. It has been called the Northern Oasis, the Little Oasis, Zeszes, Oassis Parva and the especially during the Christian era, the Oasis of al-Bahnasa, along with various other names. At one time, the Bahariya Oasis, as well as most of the rest of what is today referred to as the Western (or Libyan) Desert, was the floor of an immense ocean. Yet from about 3000 BC until the present, almost no rainfall graces this part of the world, so groundwater is its life blood.
The White Desert, known for its outstanding beauty and unique landscape, is a haven for artists, geologists, ecologists, and naturalists alike. It lies between Farafra and Bahariya oases, and is named for its impressive white limestone formations.
Farafra is the smallest oasis located in Western Egypt,Farafra has an estimated 5,000 inhabitants (2002) living within its single village and is mostly inhabited by the local Bedouins. Parts of the village have complete quarters of traditional architecture, simple, smooth, unadorned, all in mud colour
