Egypt Entry Visa Requirements

All visitors to Egypt, except those from visa-exempt countries, must obtain a visa to enter the country. There are two main types of entry visas: the visa on arrival and the Egypt e-Visa.

The visa on arrival has been a longstanding option for entry into Egypt. Eligible travelers can obtain this visa upon arrival at Egyptian border control. The process involves queuing, completing the application, and paying the required fee.

Tourists can secure a visa on arrival at immigration kiosks in any airport terminal. The procedure requires filling out a form, purchasing a visa sticker, and presenting it along with a valid passport at the immigration desks.

To qualify for a visa on arrival, travelers must be citizens of eligible countries and possess a passport with at least six months of remaining validity.

Please note that the visa fee must be paid in cash, as credit or debit cards are not accepted. It is advisable to bring the exact amount to avoid any inconvenience.

According to the Egyptian Consulate General in the United Kingdom, citizens of the following countries can obtain a visa upon arrival at any of the Egyptian ports of entry:

SCHENGEN, UK, OR USA VISA:

Passengers holding a valid Schengen, UK, or USA visa are eligible to obtain a visa on arrival in Egypt.

GCC Residents:

Residents of GCC countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain, can also obtain a visa on arrival. This visa, priced at USD 25, permits a stay of up to 30 days. The residence permit must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival.

Egypt Electronic Visa (e-Visa):

The Egypt e-Visa is available to travelers who apply online and meet the necessary requirements. Previously, citizens from certain countries could obtain a visa on arrival at any Egyptian port of entry. Now, they can conveniently obtain an e-Visa before departing for Egypt, streamlining the entry process upon arrival. The e-Visa application process is straightforward and can be completed before travel.

Tourism Visa:

Tourism visas are issued for both single and multiple entries to individuals whose nationalities require a visa to enter Egypt. The specific type of visa required is determined by the Egyptian government and is based on the purpose of your visit.

Visa-Free Entry Under Certain Conditions:

• Algeria: Visa-free for travelers aged 14 years and below.
• Libya: Visa-free for female nationals or residents of Butnan District on Sundays and Mondays.
• Jordan: Visa-free for holders of a normal 5-year passport, provided the passport does not contain a stamp from the Jordanian Registration Office on the reverse side cover (page 60).
• Morocco: Visa-free for travelers aged 14 years and below.
• Sudan: Visa-free for travelers aged 50 years and above, 16 years and below, or for female nationals.
• South Sudan: Visa-free for travelers aged 50 years and above, 16 years and below, or for female nationals.
• Tunisia: Visa-free for travelers aged 14 years and below.
• Yemen: Visa-free for travelers aged 50 years and above, 16 years and below, or those traveling for medical reasons.
• China: Visa-free with a return ticket, an upper-class hotel reservation, and proof of USD 2000 in funds.
